Beneath The Mead: cigar.lend.shave (2020) is a speculative portrait of a place, or more specifically a cave, in North Bristol called Pen Park Hole. The site was discovered accidentally in the 17th century and first explored in 1669 by Captain Sturmy, a renowned mariner and navigator. (more…)

Wtf workshop: creative metalwork and welding – 18 December and 5 January

WTF Workshops (Women Teaching Fabrication) offers a one-day intensive course, suitable for all levels of experience with consecutive days available to do larger or more complicated projects. This course is completely hands-on and student-led.

Everyone is invited to design your own project, set your own working pace, and go home having made an item (or perhaps several items) of original metalwork sculpture. (more…)

‘A unique and memorable workshop taught by two highly skilled glass makers.

You will arrive at the studio at 10:30 am and run through health and safety regulations plus a small talk, after which you will be assisted in gathering some molten glass on your blowing iron and adding colours of your choice. You will then be guided on how to manipulate the molten glass to start creating a piece of artwork, again of your choice, but nothing to tricky to start with.

You will be able to collect all of your glassware the following day or it can be wrapped and posted to you at a cost of £15 per person.’
